@NeighborWatch - No, it wasn't his son. I already said I can't discuss the details publicly. You will need to talk to the family. And I plead with you to at least give him the benefit of the doubt. You'd think after all the great things he's done serving in the Church and in the community that he would at least be deserving of that.

@therealtruth - "mistaken identity" so what happened? It was actually his son and that's why he's back from the MTC, but Tim is taking the blame?

@anonJohn - I already said he confessed to the incidents but they happened unintentionally, but you don't want to hear anything of that, so what more is there to say to you? If you want the whole truth you need to ask him or his wife. I can't reveal private information publicly here for obvious sensitivity issues to the family and because of the pending case. If you have no desire to find out the whole truth then just go on you marry way thinking what you want to think, and keep trashing his name without all the facts. That's your prerogative. I'm done chatting with you about it. Have a nice life...

I know you want to defend Tim. He's done lots of admirable things in his life. But just look at what has been confessed to here. If anyone else had confessed to this, we would call him or her a monster. If I was meeting Tim at the jail, I'd ask him, "Tim, did you do this? Just say it isn't so, and we'll back you 100%!" But the police already did that. And he already confessed to doing it. So, help us understand?

@majikgoat - You obviously live by the mantra "guilty until proven innocent." Whatever, that's your issue. Hopefully, you are not a trial judge or serve on a jury anytime soon. The world could do without ignorant, prejudice fools like you.

@therealtruth - You keep saying that you know the family and have talked with them and that they are standing by the man accused of these crimes. Well if they are from the church then that makes sense. What would happen if they didn't stand by this man that is a leader in the church? Would they lose friends, neighbors, all these things come into account. Also don't say mistaken identity, if you do the research, actually look up the numbers you will find out that a large majority of people that are charged with these crimes will use the mistaken identity as their defense. Why would you think you got the REAL STORY from his wife and children? I don't know if your married or you have kids but if your husband was charged with this sort of crime and you didn't personally see it happen would you believe it? Or would you defend him until your last breath? I think most people would defend their husband/wife no matter what happened. I have no hate for you. I just wish you would understand that you are telling other people to not judge this guy because they don't know him or all the facts and you seem to think you do know all the facts because you know him and his family. That doesn't mean you know anything. Unless you were physically there to witness this then you don't know all the facts the same as everyone else here.

@NeighborWatch - You are a truly pathetic individual and I feel sorry for you. You refuse to find out the truth of what happened and how these incidents were unintentional (hint: mistaken identity), yet you make these disgusting false accusations and condemnations in a public place. I wish I knew who you were so that I could avoid being near you when the lightening strikes.

@ therealtruth - you are right, the fact that he put his wanker in a little girls hand while she was sleeping, BUT is such a standup guy he offers to pay for the girls counseling cause she woke up with his throbbing member in her hand changes everything! He should not be in jail, in fact i think his faith is sufficient to call the prison to crumble like Alma and Amulek so that he can be set free!

@mom 9 girls - Why must I come on one side or the other? I am on both sides. I am on the side of the girl who is in counseling that Mr. Bothell is paying for, and I hope nothing but the best for her and her family. Mr. Bothell is also on her side and trying to take steps to help her heal. I am also on Mr. Bothell's side as well because the incidents which occurred were unintentional. The fact the events occurred is unfortunate, but Mr. Bothell is not the level of an abuser that you and others are suggesting, so the charges he has against him, and the treatment he is getting by the public, is not equal to the crime.

@ RealTruth, it is time for you to come down on one side or the other. You seem like a caring person, but you've done nothing but defend this man and this disgusting and sordid behavior he has willingly admitted to doing! Please tell us that you do not approve of the behavior that this man has already admitted. Please tell us that you are as horrified as we are. Please give us something to indicate that you believe that this sort of behavior is wrong. A child cannot consent to this – it is felony child abuse. You shouldn’t minimize these offenses and suggest that this man is a nice guy. Mr. Bothell is an admitted child abuser. Period.
