I see the church continues to lie about its history and to pretend their doctrines have never been official or controversial. So much BS. When I joined in the 70s, the BYU prof's explanation was THE explanation taught in Sunday School. It was official doctrine. To deny that now is to whitewash truth - not that they operate well with truth.

I just don't understand the obsession anf fascination everybody has with ridiculing and criticizing someone's belief system. It makes no sense to me. I am not just talking about Mormonism but everything. Why do we really get so caught up in antagonizing others? What does it matter? I may have religious, political or social affiliations but that doesn't make me a good or bad person necessarily. We may not all agree but that doesn't mean we have to disparage another or discourage them from their freedoms. Why don't we focus on what is good about something? Society is killing us into thinking that everything has to be right or wrong. I just don't understand hostility, judgment or resentment of others for who they believe their God is. That's their business and it is probably very personal to them so just let it be. I'm not saying opinions don't matter or that this isn't open for discussion but if we could just tone down our hostility I think we would understand and learn more from each other.

Welcome to the Church of That Was Then–This Is Now. "We strongly condemn today things we held to be eternal truths yesterday. We do not know how, why, or when we came to believe these things. And in the future, please refrain from holding us accountable for any eternal truth we may be teaching today. Remember, our god is evolving, and so should you. Get over it."

I am a former member of the Mormon church. Growing up through the 60s and 70s I was taught that all black people were cursed by God and should be avoided. It was also taught that any black person who truly repented of the "sins of their previous life" could be forgiven. the sign of their true repentance and acceptance of the one and only true church, which is the Mormon church, was that "their skin would become white and delightsome, just like ours". I guess by 1978 the church finally figured out that either none of the african Americans joining the church had truly repented, or Their skin wasn't really going to change color. Hence, the 1978 "revelation" of the black and white seagull flying together and the acceptance of blacks into the preisthood. Oh yeah...the lawsuit being brought up at the time by an african american being refused the priesthood probably also had something to do with the decision...I'm just sayin.

CHURCHES AND MEXICANS LOVE TO USE RACIAL PROFILING --DISCRIMINATION AS AN EXCUSE TO COVER UP THEIR WRONG DOING...RACIAL PROFILING IS USE BY ILLEGALS TO KEEP THE POLICE FROM DEPORTING THEM A FACT.

The LDS church started with a lie or two...Joseph Smith couldn't decide which version he should use. He took other men's wives as his own..and of course it was a secret until he was found out..then he says it was a revelation from God to take more than one wife....then the Civil War - slaves - blacks were not equal...hummm...lies about baptizing for the dead..one big lie after another and cover up after cover up...when when, when are Mormons going to wake up and start putting 2 and 2 together??? the church is based on lies and they are following just like blind sheep. Secrets after secrets, cover up after cover up, lies based on lies.

I wish that the Holy Profit would run these things by me first before unleashing his PR guys, Trotter et al. I'm sorry to report that it has become crystal clear to me that, 1.) I either I know soooo much more LDS church history and doctrines than even Boyd KKK Packer, or 2.) someone out there is lying like a rug. Like, look at this tripe: “...it is not known precisely why, how, or when this restriction began but what is clear is that it ended decades ago.” In any and all of my LDS-published books downstairs it is stated "precisely why" the restriction began. You want details, Tommy? Ask me. Your guy making the public statements keeps getting it wrong. For guys who used to be so sure about your doctrines, you sure have been wimping out on a lot of stuff lately, like, "We only allow relatives of the deceased to submit a name to the temple." (What?), and "I'm not sure that we teach that; I'm not sure that we emphasize that." (Psst! You DO!) Here are a few words for you to take to heart about not wimping out on your own doctrines. These are some easy-to-find statements by late LDS apostle, prophet, seer, and revelator Delbert Stapley. Thank you, Internet: "There is nothing in the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints about which any member need feel any shame, apology or embarrassment. Perhaps in the individual failings and weaknesses of some who profess to be members, there may be cause, but not in the Gospel itself... there are at least two points of doctrine and history of this Church about which many LDS themselves - to say nothing of many non-members - feel ill at ease or critical. One of these is its doctrine regarding the Negro. ... [Negroes] cannot be ordained to the Priesthood, nor are they eligible for marriage in an LDS temple; Negroes and Non-Negroes should not intermarry... "In regard to this policy on Negroes, members of the Church face three alternatives: (1) Be apologizers for the Church: say that it is old fash
