TAMPA (ABC 4 News) - Listening closely to Paul Ryan's speech Wednesday night at the Republican National Convention in Tampa , Florida was Jason Chaffetz.
Utah's Third District Congressman is friends with Ryan and, in fact, the two have much in common.
Young, conservative, a father of three, a member of the Budget Committee and a rising star in the Republican Party.
Yes, this is Paul Ryan but it could also describe Jason Chaffetz.
In Tampa, Chaffetz told ABC 4 this about Ryan, "He's just a great guy. He's just the real thing. He's a guy who I always felt, at some point, should be a President of the United States."
First, though, there's the Vice-Presidency.
The man Mitt Romney picked traveled with Chaffetz to Afghanistan just a few months ago.
But Ryan's ties to Utah go back much further than that.
According to Chaffetz, "He used to come to Utah when he was in his late teens. He loves skiing Alta. He would just get in the station wagon and drive all night from Wisconsin."
And speaking of exercise, there's something else Chaffetz has in common with Ryan.
No, Ryan wasn't a place kicker with BYU.
But he does get a kick being more fit than Chaffetz, especially at their early morning Capitol Hill workouts in Washington D.C.
Chaffetz told us, "The P90X? Oh yeah. I've done that for years with Paul. I don't necessarily do it every day like Paul as you can see by my waistline."
There's also one other thing Paul Ryan and Jason Chaffetz have in common.
They are two of the House members of Congress that actually sleep in their Congressional offices.
