Hurricane man arrested for trailer park shooting

HURRICANE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Police say one man was in critical condition while another man was in jail after a shooting at an RV park Tuesday night.

According to police, officers responded to reports of a fight an shots fired at the St. George RV park in Hurricane.

Police say two men were heard arguing and that one of the men was heard making threats with a gun outside a trailer.

Police say residents reported what they believed to be gunshots, and when officers arrived, they found 31-year-old Craig Manwill Bennett Jr. on scene.

Police say Bennett was detained for questioning, while a 48-year-old man was located inside the trailer with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the side of his head and his shoulder/arm area.

Police say emergency personnel responded and the victim was transported by Life Flight to a hospital in Las Vegas in critical condition.

Police say Bennett was arrested and booked on suspicion of Aggravated Assault, a 2nd Degree Felony and his bail was set at $100,000 cash.

According to police, investigators processed the scene and found evidence that is consistent with multiple gunshots being fired.

A motive behind the argument and assault was not immediately known by investigators.
