OGDEN, Utah (ABC 4 News) – ABC 4 is celebrating the birthday of the great escape artist Harry Houdini. In cased you missed it Thursday on Good Morning Utah a pair of local artists performed several of Houdini's great escapes LIVE on our air.
Harry Houdini was born on March 24 1874.
To celebrate, local magicians Elias "Lefty" Carass and James Dayley both performed several of Houdini's classic escapes including freeing themselves from a straight jacket and chains, and being tied up with over 50 feet of rope.
Dayley is part of the Northern Utah Magicians Association (NUMA). Each month the Two Bit Street Cafe hosts a magician's workshop where artists like Carass and Dayley practice their magic tricks and illusions, and let aspiring magicians come watch and share ideas.

Magicians from NUMA will next perform as a group at the North Ogden Library Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Admission is free. They will also perform, April 1st at the Two Bit Street Café during dinner hours from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
