HOOPER, Utah (ABC 4 News) - The Hooper city council has unanimously decided not to join with the town of West Haven to form a joint police department.

The Hooper council opted to enter a contract with the Weber County Sheriff's office for police services.

The decision needed to be made by December 11, and after hours of discussion, the council members decided they didn't have enough information and said that there were too many "unknowns" to make the decision by the deadline.

West Haven says they will move forward with plans for their own law enforcement.
