ST. GEORGE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Washington County officials say a 50-year-old woman was rescued after falling down a ravine in the Snow Canyon State Park over the weekend.

County officials say the woman was visiting friends from out of town when she lost footing on steep downhill slope, suffering a compound fracture to her leg.

According to Washington County officials, the woman was spotted by a Life Flight helicopter crew at around 2 p.m. Sunday.

Search and rescue personnel hiled in on foot and stabilized woman before moving her to location where the helicopter could pick her up and take her to the Dixie Regional Medical Center.
