UTAH COUNTY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A nasty court case is giving Utah's First Family a black eye.
A Utah county judge ordered the Governor's son at least 50 yards away from a woman he's accused of stalking.
The First Lady and her son Nathan say they are the victims of a woman who used the law to get revenge, but Aiona Buttars says she's glad Nathan can no longer get near her. "I'm so relieved this has been a nightmare and I am so grateful to have the injunction in place," said Buttars.
She started bumping into him around town after Nathan stopped dating her sister. "I don't claim that he ever followed me in a car or ever texted me. It's the behavior that happened when he did see me in various locations," said Buttars.
She says she ran into Nathan at places like Gold's Gym, a Smith's store and around town.
Nathan's Attorney Scott Card continues defending his client with video he released to ABC 4 after the ruling. It shows Nathan shopping in a Nordstrom's store. He is near a friend of Buttars who was working at the time. She called security and they claim he was inappropriately touching himself.
The allegation would be followed with several more serious allegations. "I challenge anyone in this world to look at that and tell me anything was wrong. He did nothing wrong," said Card.
Utah's First Lady says the judge made a bad decision. "We know our son. The story told today is absolutely true. We know that. We live with him. I know this man," said Jeanette Herbert.
Nathan says the Buttars took him to court because he got into a disagreement with her sister. "Many times the real victims in these kinds of situations sometimes is the guy, that is accused with false accusations," he said.
They are accusations Buttars says are very real. "I can go about my business, and be a mom like I'm supposed to," said Buttars.
Nathan is not allowed with in 50 yards of Buttars and is banned from her Gold's Gym. If he is caught near, even with-out his knowledge, he can be punished.
