SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A group of friends are joining together to buy a billboard to plead for any information that could lead to Uta Von Schwedler's apparent killer.

The billboard stands at 1300 East 700 South. It reads, "Help Solve the Mystery of My Death -- Uta von Schwedler April 13, 1962 Sept 27, 2011 -- JusticeforUta.com"

"I actually saw it a couple of days ago. I thought it may have something to do with disease," said Matt Vaneck.

Uta's friends hope someone passing by knows something about her mysterious death. The 49-year-old University of Utah Biologist was found dead in her Sugarhouse home a little more than a year ago on September 27.

A medical examiner told the familiy she drowned to death and she had a sedative in her system leading some to think she committed suicide, but there were multiple cuts in the defensive areas of her arms and legs brusing to her neck and lips and there were signs of a struggle, according to a website set up by her friends.

The pain of not knowing is pushing her friends to put up the billboard to plead for any tips possible.

"It might get some curiosity raised in people enough for them to inquire deeper," said Darwin Bedford.

"I think it's wonderful that she has friends that would do that," said Shellie Buckwell.
