Fire displaces a family of seven on Christmas

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) Firefighters responded to a residential fire in at 6:11 p.m. on Tuesday. 

The fire was near Independence Blvd. and Morton Drive. When firefighters arrived they could see heavy smoke through the window of the front room. No one was home at the time of the fire. The fire was under control within five minutes. 

Fire damage was contained to the the living room, with some smoke damage throughout the house. Seven people, including two children were displaced due to the fire and are staying with family members. 

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire.
