FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) - A former South Davis Metro Fire Agency captain convicted of child sex abuse blames pornography for his downfall.
Judge Thomas L. Kay sentenced 43-year-old Bradley Dean Freeze on Thursday to 15 years to life in Utah State Prison after the firefighter pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual abuse of a child in December.
The Standard-Examiner reports Freeze told the judge a pornography addiction "destroyed my soul."
Prosecutors say Freeze inappropriately touched a girl under 14 and took pictures of her on his cellphone between September 2010 and August 2011. Court documents also say the Kaysville resident had the girl touch him inappropriately.
Freeze worked with the fire department for at least 15 years before resigning in September after his arrest.
