OGDEN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Fire conditions may be improving, the US Forest Service has improved our fire potential to moderate. But a Utah Fire Marshall is concerned with the change.

Weber Fire Marshall Ted Black told ABC4, "The dead grass in june is still there, the fire danger is still significant."

At the same time, the US Forest Service has changed their fire rating to moderate. Basically telling everyone, the potential for a fire in Utah has decreased dramatically.

The change isn't coming with much welcome, the Weber Fire Marshal definitely doesn't agree.

Black said, "I don't know that it has changed to moderate."

Fires are now being allowed in approved fire pits, according to Black.

Anyone with questions about their fire pit are encouraged to call the Weber County Fire Marshall's office at (801) 782-3580 for an evaluation.
