SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A Facebook page is attacking Gov. Mitt Romney because of his status as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Facebook page titled "Vote No To Mitt Romney and the Mormon Plan for America" shares false information about the Latter-day Saint Church and ties Romney to the misrepresentations.

The page sparked about 20,000 conversations on Facebook the day before the election.

Sara Levering wrote on Facebook, "Mutt Romney Satan's servant." Jodie Nemo Wright wrote on Facebook, "I'm so done with Romney!"

So what is prompting Facebook users to respond in these ways? Let's take a look. First another look at the headline, "Vote no to Mitt Romney and the Mormon plan for America."

ABC 4's Noah Bond called the church spokesman Scott Trotter to ask what church leaders would do if an active Latter-day Saint politician supported same sex marriage or abortion.

Trotter released this official statement, "Elected officials who are Latter-day Saints make their own decisions and may not necessarily be in agreement with one another or even with a publicly stated Church position."

Next, the website states "So Christians are going to vote for a high priest in a Satanic cult? Tell me more about the great commission."

We took this to Latter-day Saints Jessica Hunton and Randee Hunter.

"That doesn't even make sense," said Hunton. "I don't get it. We don't know what that even means," said Hunter. The women say they've never been taught about following Satan in Church or other religious ceremonies.

Another posts reads, "Is Jesus the reason for your Salvation? not according to Mitt Romney and his Mormon cult."

"I don't know where they got that because Jesus is the whole focus of our religion," Hunton said. "Yeah, and when did Romney say he was the focus of it?" Hunter said.

This is one example of the many lies interwoven with truth about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Click on the attached link to learn what the Latter-day Saint Church really teaches.

Mormons do not believe in the Jesus of the Bible. Theirs is the brother of Lucifer, while the Biblical Jesus created Lucifer. Look at 2 Cor 11:4 for Paul's warning. The best deceptions must have some appeal or no one would fall for it.

Mormons are not being called out. You ask them anything and they will tell you. Why so much hate? The Mormons I know are good people. They give charity and help at every chance. If they say they believe in Jesus why do you say they don't. I would think they know what they believe in.... The cult thing is so old school. They aren't a cult they can come and go as they please. Just a thought......lets live like Americans and let people have their freedom of choice, religion, and marriage. If you don't like it don't hate but show tolerance.

Mormons are so upset they are being called out and judged on their lies, when judging is all they seem to be able to do. It is a secretive organization and Mitt Romney showed how secretive he is as well. Mormons have never shown equality in women, which is why Mitt attacked women's rights. America is so much better off without a mormon in office.

Sorry about my earlier post stating that Romney was a "slate" president. A misspelling - he was a "stake" president. Here is an explanation of what that entails: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melchizedek_Priesthood_%28Latter_Day_Saints%29#Presidencies

This is how highly Mormons think of women: "Women do not hold positions within the priesthood, but may occupy leadership roles in Church auxiliary organizations" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mormon_church

They also made a quick removal in the mormon wiki page on "white horse prophecy" and "modified" their fairmormon dot org page...Seems this FB page is hitting a nerve and some Mormons are in the process of damage control...The thing is not only has the age of print been unkind to the Church, so is the Internet!
