Drunk driver hits pole, passenger hospitalized

West Valley City, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A drunken man driving with his friends struck a power pole sending one to the hospital Sunday morning

A passenger from the vehicle said the suspect, a 24-year-old male, and another passenger were arguing as the car drifted off the road striking a pole near 3800 West 3500 South around 8:30 a.m.

Officers responded to the scene where they found one passenger pinned in the vehicle, said West Valley Police Officials.

The victim was extracted from the vehicle and transported to Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition, said police.

No other injuries have been reported.
