DRAPER, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A very strange and disgusting discovery in Draper early Wednesday morning; 10 dead geese lying in the middle of road.

The ten birds were found before 3 a.m. Wednesday morning on 700 West between 11400 South and 12000 South. A Draper Police Officer making his nightly patrol found the geese.

Ray Loken, DNR Conservative Officer, told ABC4 News, "the birds somehow just showed up in the middle of the road without any reasonable explanation at this point."

While the discovery is strange, how the birds got there is potentially illegal.

Officer Loken said, "It's not water foul season, so if someone is intentionally killing these geese it's a crime, state and federally."

If you know anything about the geese, call DNR's poaching hotline: 1(800) 662-3337
