Someone had been stealing the copper ground wires off the poles, they were noticed Saturday that they were missing and so because of that the electricity couldn't ground right so it may have ended up going down the guy wire and was too hot to handle it for the surrounding grass they think....so as far as it looks it was caused by a human, a thief to be exact and I wish they could catch them because they are really to blame. Sanpete has been having a lot of issues with copper and things being stolen for money; they were stealing from substations but now have started in remote locations so they cant be seen. So if anyone knows anything it would be great to let people know, they aren't going to stop stealing those and they could cause another fire just like this one... Very tragic.

did reluctantly and we were able to get to the horses. Truthfully, I think we would have ran the roadblock had he not been so understanding. We spent the entire day with no food and water. Tom found a can of black beans and being the boy scout heated on his engine and the three of shared. it. At one point the monstrous cloud of fire and smoke coming from Moroni to Indianola, descended upon me, my husband and Tom in seconds flat. It came at us at over 60 miles per hour and blocked the sun. It was biblical is all I can say about it. We went from, "well, should we move the horses or not" - to running literally for our lives. It came down on us so hard - over took us and then passed us by, leaving the mountain we thought was safe burning like crazy. The flames sounded like a huge airplane as the propane tanks exploded like a war front. I watched as my horses ran confused in the dark red and black not knowing where to go - All we could do was drive away as fast as we could. I thought that their silhouettes in the flames would be the last thing I would remember of them. Then came the second chance. We were able by God's grace to capture the stallion and one mare and lead them out to a much lower pasture while the rest followed. At this point right now, they are somewhat safe. There is nothing more now that I can do. I came to Provo tonight to stay at my mom's. She had a family dinner planned weeks ago - so the three of us arrived late, tired, starving and smelling like a bonfire! But there were my kids and their spouses, my grandson, my parents my brothers and their kids - all there with their pretty faces holding up dinner and a special family announcement worried and waiting for us. Pray for my horses, pray for my neighbors. Pray for rain. — at Indianola, Utah.

Dear ABC 4, This morning I heard you advertise for personal stories from the Sanpete Fire. I thought I would send you my Facebook blogs if you are interested. My husband, myself and a friend could have been killed trying to save our herd of horses when the wind changed and sent a huge cloud of smoke and flames upon us turning the sky so dark our headlights didn't even work. We literally ran for our lives as it overcame us at around 80 miles per hour carrying fire sparks and black smoke. There was an elderly resident that we couldn't get to and believed him to have died when I called him begging him to drive out of there. He couldn't get out, and he did live, but it was a a scene from a movie. Also there is an organization that is working to reunite pets with owners that could use a little media. Chris or Diane with WagonTrain 801-822-2093 801-322-0483 You may friend me on facebook if you would like to check out the photos and all of the kind people that responded to my story. Also I couldn't find a place to upload photos - If you go on my site where my horse photos are - the pictures are owned by me and you have my permission to use any of them you want or need. Thank-You for your service to the public. Tamara Bosshardt The following are actual posts on my facebook: Sunday- Nothing like spending the day begging God to step in. I fought all day along with my husband and good friend Tom to keep my horses safe. All the while watching propane tanks and motor homes explode like a scene from a movie. All of the evacuated people were standing along the highway - some in shock - some in tears as they helplessly watched their dreams go up in the black smoke. My dear friend who has had so many other problems and does not have fire insurance. I am sure she is not the only one. When I got to the road block with the bolt cutters for the lock on the gate, I jumped out of my truck in tears and literally begged the officer to let me through - he d
