SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) – The 6th Annual Soroptimist of Salt Lake "Breakfast with Santa" provided single moms and their kids with Christmas joy Saturday.

An estimated 155 single moms and over 350 kids gathered for a free hot breakfast, a meeting with Santa and a chance to pick up some free gifts to open on Christmas morning.

Nearly 4,000 volunteer hours and hundreds of donations went in to organize event.

Some moms who were participants as single moms in early years are now donating time and gifts and even have their children assist with the breakfast as well, according to event organizers.

Groups of volunteers include motorcycle club members, Zion's Bank employees, and a group of servicemen and women.

How good of ABC 4 to cover this heart-warming Salt Lake City story. These single moms deserve a lot of credit for keeping their families together and establishing traditions for them. The grandmother who has adopted her grandchildren deserves a medal.
