Budget cuts impact hazmat division in Tooele County

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Declining revenues have lead officials to trim costs for the division that handles hazardous materials emergencies in Tooele County.
Environmental groups say they are worried about the cuts because the area has a radioactive waste landfill and tons of hazardous materials are transported daily through the county.
Some of the revenue the county has lost includes fees from Energy Solutions. Back in 2005, the county received $13 million in fees. So far this year, they have gotten $2 million.
