VERNAL, Utah (ABC 4 News) -- Utah Highway Patrol is investigating what caused a car to veer into oncoming traffic, causing a wreck and killing the passenger.

UHP says Angela Davis was driving eastbound on State Route 40, about 15 miles west of Vernal, when something caused her to cross into oncoming traffic and hit another car.

Davis’ passenger, 12-year-old T.J. Seely was killed.

The driver of the other car, Blair Kay, suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

Davis suffered critical injuries. She was transported to an area hospital before being flown to a Salt Lake City area hospital.

UHP says there are no indications of excessive speeding or impairment from either vehicle.
