(West Jordan, Utah) – West Jordan Police investigators made an arrest Monday for over 100 tire slashing incidents that have occurred in the area of the Jordan Highlands subdivision since Labor Day weekend. The suspect is a 15 year old male who lives in West Jordan. No other persons are thought to be involved.
The information that lead to the arrest was received from a resident whose cell phone was stolen during one of the tire slashing episodes. The resident contacted the West Jordan Police Department when she became aware of the suspect’s attempt to sell the stolen cell phone.
During the investigation, officers discovered that the arrested juvenile is also responsible for starting dumpster fires and vandalizing property at West Hills Middle School in recent weeks.
The suspect will be booked into Juvenile Detention and referred to Juvenile Court on multiple charges stemming from these incidents. Charges will include Felony Criminal Mischief, Vehicle Burglary, and Arson.
