There is an organization called "Anything For A Friend" and it steps in to help people when tragedy strikes.
On the organization's website it says, "Anything for a Friend is a simple concept about human beings and our interconnection. We believe that humans have an innate desire to connect and help each other when someone is in need. However, most are unsure as to how to provide such help. Anything for a Friend seeks to provide an avenue through which family, friends and the community of someone dealing with personal tragedy can band together to show support. We believe that through the organization of a community fundraiser, both the friends and the benefactor are able to minimize much of the fear and anxiety related to personal tragedy and find satisfaction through such an event, ultimately benefiting the entire community."
Brandon Winger knows the power of "AFAF". He's fighting for his life, and the organization of "friends" is helping him in his fight. When Brandon went in for routine shots to enter 7th grade.. he found out he had a mass in his stomach. It was a tumor in his intestines. It was a cancer not seen in 20 years. The cancer has metastasized into his liver, lungs and stomach. But he has a spirit to live!
You are invited to go to a fund raiser for him Saturday, December 3, 5pm - 9pm at the Syracuse Community Center. The address is 1912 West 1900 South. There will be a dinner/ bake sale, a live and silent auction, a kid's corner and a balloon launch.
