SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Salt Lake City Fire department rescued a woman Thursday morning after her car slammed into and was trapped under a tractor trailer.

She was pinned underneath the wreckage for about thirty minutes. According to the truck driver, the car ran a red light at the intersection of 1700 south 900 west.

The car was dragged 150 feet before stopping.

This area was closed down for the next few hours, as police investigated what happened to cause the accident.

The woman had to be extricated through the passenger door. She was taken to a local hospital in serious condition, and later upgraded to stable.
