PROVO, Utah (AP) - Allegiant has announced it'll be offering nonstop jet service between Provo, Utah, and Phoenix starting in February.

Twice-weekly flights between Provo and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport begin Feb. 15, and officials with the airline say ticket prices will start as low as $50 each way.

Wednesday's news comes three months after Frontier Airlines announced it would discontinue flights to and from Provo in January.

Provo Mayor John Curtis said at the time that the change came as Frontier reduced its fleet of smaller aircraft.
