WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Saturday, October 15, 2010, is Susan Cox Powell’s 29th birthday. Susan, the mother of two boys, disappeared from her West Valley home on December 7th of last year and has not been seen since.

West Valley police believe foul play was involved in her disappearance, but have not arrested a suspect. Her husband, Josh Powell, is a “person of interest” in the case.

To mark her birthday, two activities are planned in Utah. The public is invited to both.

Friends and family are holding a birthday party in the park. It will take place at West View Park at 6050 West 4100 South in West Valley and starts at 11:00am.

There will be cake. Friends also plan on launching a couple hundred helium filled, latex balloons. Each balloon will have tied to it a card with Susan Cox Powell’s picture and description as well as contact information for anyone who might know something about her disappearance.

Also tomorrow, Bridgerland Fire Company is conducting a search for Susan in Skull Valley. The search begins at 8:00am in the Lone Rock area located 3-miles south of the Dugway (Highway 196) exit off I-80.

I sincerely believe that nothing less than a microscopic investigation of the timeline in which Susan was reported missing will somehow answer the question of was she abducted and is still alive? Or did she in any way ever communicate to anyone that she felt that things were'nt going so well and that someday she might just up and leave her kids and Josh? From what I have gathered is no. Leaving me with one thought that if Josh was so sincere in the fact that he had nothing to do with his wifes disappearance and being that this whole story is as big in the media as it has been. Would he ever have the courage to appear in front of someone like Diane Sawyer or Katie Couric for a televised media interview in which he had the opportunity for the rest of the world and the unlying eye of the camera to judge him and openly tell everyone that he had no involvement in Susans disappearance? Or is Josh's inability to cooperate with law enforcement still the best indicator as to where she is or what really happened to her?

I hope everyone will continue to pray for justice for her family. Another O.J. being allowed to raise children. How can her husband get away with this for so long?!
