AMERICAN FORK, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Dogs and cats evacuated from the wildfire above Alpine took refuge at "On the Spot" in American Fork.

Lori Stephens opened her doors because she says no other service in Utah County will temporarily house animals.

"The poor little dogs they’re stressed and the cats and they get to come here and play and swim in the pools and get loves," said Stephens.

She is housing nine dogs and six cats free of charge.  They may stay with her through Friday.

"It just makes me feel happy that we can help. Not just the pets but the families. The families are going through a really stressful time right now. And just knowing that they’re doings are somewhere being loved and that’s one less thing they have to worry about," Stephens said.
