EDEN, Utah (AP) - A 25-year-old bicyclist from Salt Lake City has died after a high-speed crash on a steep road near Eden.
Tyler C. Soelberg was pronounced dead at an Ogden hospital Thursday after authorities say he lost control of the bike on the downhill slope around 2:30 in the afternoon.
Soelberg was riding on Powder Mountain Road in the Ogden Valley with his brother and brother-in-law when the pair lost sight of him. They returned to find he had crashed on the side of the roadway.
Authorities say was wearing a helmet but suffered severe head, neck and torso injuries.
The Deseret News reports Soelberg had been staying with family members at Wolf Creek Resort and his parents arrived at the scene shortly after the accident.
