MAGNA, Utah (ABC 4 News) – Unified Police are investigating an officer involved shooting that left a 15 year-old dead Sunday morning.

Sheriff Mike Winder says that officers responded to 3791 south Paine Road around 8:45 Sunday morning after a woman called 911 requesting assistance with her son.

When officers responded to the home the woman’s 15-year-old son began firing shots at the officers. The suspect who was later identified by police as Sean A. Morrison barricaded himself behind a car wearing a bullet proof vest and a ski mask. Winder says that the Morrison fired several rounds at police but no officers were struck.

Morrison then fled and was spotted by neighbors in the area. Police say that neighbors called 911 reporting a suspicious person. When they arrived to that location the suspect began firing shots at the officers. Officers returned four shots, striking the suspect.

A medical helicopter was dispatched to the area to transport the Morrison. He was transported in extremely critical condition to a nearby hospital but later died from gunshot wounds.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm..........I was 2 doors down and saw no medical helicopter, all I saw was a fire truck and an ambulance. This was a tragic incidence. His family and friends as well as my neighbors are all in our hearts and prayers tonight. We are all so glad that no one else was injured during this insedent, thank you so much Unified Police department for taking care of my children and my neighborhood. I commend the mother in this story, she had the strength and the courage to call the police, I think she knew something bad was going to happen. You and your family are in our prayers Sean.
