13-year-old struck by lightning in Weber county

PLAIN CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A 13-year-old male was struck by lightning Saturday afternoon near the Rail trail head in Weber County.

The Weber County Sheriff says a 13-year-old boy and a 25-year-old man were hunting near 3500 West and 4000 North when both individuals were struck by lightning.

Authorities say a Division of Wildlife Resources officer was on the scene at the time of the incident. He began administering CPR to the boy, who was reported as being in full cardiac arrest. He continued resuscitation until medical arrived.

The boy was transported to Primary Children's Medical Center in critical condition, and the man is reported as being in good condition.
