SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Utah leaders are worried child pornography crimes in the state are on the rise.
Today, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force joined Utah legislators to sound a voice of warning.
"The pornographers and those who want to take advantage of the children of this state, those children that are probably at their most indefensible time, we are not going to tolerate that," said Utah Representative David Clark. "These officers are coming after you."
Local child porn arrestes have increased by 70%, and many of the offenders are not just possessing porn but abusing children themselves.
A recent child pornography sting called "Operation Frostbite" led to 16 arrests and the rescue of several children.
