TAYLORSVILLE (ABC 4 News) – A Taylorsville family kitchen caught on fire Sunday afternoon.
Officials say the damage could have been much worse, seeing how the flames remained in just the kitchen of the home.
Firefighters say both people in the house, located at 3418 West Silver Medal Drive in Taylorsville were upstairs in the home when the fire occurred.
One of the residents went downstairs, saw the flames burning and immediately called 911.
Although the fire was contained to just the kitchen area of the home, the smoke damaged the majority of the home.
Both residents made it out of the house without any injuries. Firefighters are investigating the cause of the burn.
The estimated cost of the damage is around 20 thousand dollars.
