SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) He admitted he killed a 7 year old Salt Lake girl in a drive-by shooting. Thursday afternoon he found out his punishment.
Gabriel Alvarez was sentenced to 16 years to life. He and two others drove to little Maria Del Carmen Menchaca's home in Glendale and opened fire. The little girl was out playing on her front lawn, and was hit. The gunman had been threatening her uncle just hours before the shooting.
