MONROE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - There is a family in Sevier County that needs a hand up and the South Sevier High School is trying to help.

A few years ago the Hul family's Monroe home flooded and now is covered with black mold.

To make matters worse, two of their children have very serious illnesses. Their 17-year old daughter has a brain tumor and their 13-year old son has disability that prevents affects his speech.

They have been living in a shack in the back yard without running water and basic amenities. The community has volunteered to help the family rebuild but they are trying to come up with money for materials.

The high school is hosting a dance fund raiser Friday night after the basketball game.

If you'd like to donate and help this family, you can send donations to the SSHS 'Giving it Back 2010.’

A donation account has also been opened up at Zions Bank under the Huls family name.  Contact any Zions Bank for details in how to give to the fund.

Another way to donate is to go to the website, http://www.givingitback2010.bbnow.org/index.php. You can also find more information about the fundraisers, raffles and other events on this site.

This problem is more widespread than most people realize.. There are thousands of families left homeless because of mold. Serious illness can result from exposure to mold and it is being ignored by the govt at the request of the insurance companies and big pharma. For more information about this please visit my Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/reqs.php#/group.php?gid=40270144117 you will be amazed at the number of lives being destroyed by mold. It is a national disgrace that hardly anyone hears about.. Sincerely, Billdaddy

Please make it easier to donate money in situations like this. I am ready to donate right now via credit / debit card or a PayPal $$ transfer. Who has time to leave work in the middle of the day to find a Zions Bank to make a deposit. Unfortunatally, I don't. Too bad. So much more money could have been raised for this poor family had a little more effort been put into the fundraiser.
