PROVO, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A father from Provo is in jail after police say he beat his young sons with a golf club.
Police say teachers at Edgemont Elementary noticed the boys, 9 and 12 years old, were in pain and notified authorities.
39-year-old Seok Hee Won is from Korea. According to police, Won told officers this kind of abuse is normal in his country. The father apparently beat the boys because the 9-year-old had loaned his bicycle to a friend without permission, and the older brother did not stop him, according to police.
The boys are in state custody, and Won now faces two counts of child abuse.
