ROY, Utah (ABC 4 News)  An eighth grader at Roy Junior High School had a frightening experience on the way to school.

According to police, she was walking near 5400 South and 1900 West in Roy when she says a man whistled at her and then offered her a ride.

She declined, but says he started to undo his seatbelt, so she ran away.

Investigators say the girl found a man delivering newspapers for help and he called police.  Other witnesses say they watched the suspect speed away from the area.  The school has sent home letters explaining what happened.

Police say the suspect is a white man in his 20s.  He was wearing an orange vest, like a construction worker or school crossing guard would wear.  The car is described as maroon or red newer-model Ford Mustang with black stripes across the top and roof.

If you have any information, please call Roy Police.
