LOGAN, Utah (ABC 4 News) – With all the bad news concerning the economy and employment lately, there is good news to report from Cache Valley.
About 340 jobs are available at the new Wal-Mart Super Center in Logan, which is set to open in mid-June.
The store opening comes after many workers in northern Utah have recently lost their jobs. ATK Launch Systems recently announced layoffs at its Promontory location, La-Z-Boy shut down its plant in Brigham City last year, and Utah State University, one of Logan’s largest employers also began laying off workers this year.
Of those 340 jobs at the new Wal-Mart, 65 per cent are expected to be full time positions.
About half of the positions should be filled by this time next month.
Interested parties can apply in person at the Wal-Mart hiring center in Providence at 517 West 100 North.
