SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released a statement regarding the planned burning of the Quran in by a pastor in Florida.

Pastor Terry Jones and his Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville Florida plan to burn several copies of the Quran on Saturday's anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon 9 years ago.

Several religious leaders have condemned the idea, along with federal and military officials who worry over potential backlash from Muslim extremists.

On Wednesday, Scott Trotter, spokesman for the LDS Church, released the following statement:

“A key tenet of our faith is to accord everyone the freedom to worship as they choose. It is regrettable that anyone would regard the burning of any scriptural text as a legitimate form of protest or disagreement.”

Its interesting that one cult will never put down another cult.If they are allowed to go unchecked, that's equivalent to allowing satan to to be unleashed without restraint. The apostle Paul clearly wrote that we must stamp out false teachers/prophets/doctrines. NOT tolerate them!

It is just totally wrong!!! We all have the privilege of worshiping as we wish. After all ~ these are children of our Heavenly Father, just as we all are. This man, who claims to represent God in his religion, is doing something NOT pleasing to the God he claims to represent!! We need too pray for him and for those who support this type of behavior. Many of us don't support the Mosque that is planned for New York, near ground zero, but they do have the freedom to worship, just as the rest of us. GOD BLESS AMERICA and our freedom!!

It isn't a "proper" thing to do but neither is building the mosque near "ground zero" in New York or burning the flag. But they are protected under our freedoms.

I am not a religious person, but what this supposed man of the cloth wants to do in rememberance of the 9/11 attacks is so very wrong...it will only result in direct arm to our service men and women still fighting in Iraq..God Bless us all.

Rom 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. I can't add anymore cause God's word says it all. Christ is coming He and He alone in act His wrath.
