SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is waiting to see what aid is needed in Honduras and Belize after a strong earthquake.

Six people, including two children were killed and forty more injured.

More than two dozen homes crumbled in the quake and a huge section of bridge that connects Honduras' second largest city with the rest of the country has collapsed.

Schools were closed and there's no electricity, telephones or internet connections.

The quake was also felt in El Salvador, Guatemala and northern Nicaragua.

LDS Church officials say all missionaries working in the area are safe. Church officials also said they had not received any word on any structural damage to church buildings.
