WASHINGTON, D.C. (ABC 4 News) - Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gave First Lady Michelle Obama her genealogical family history at the White House on Wednesday.
Nevada Senator Harry Reid met with Elder Oaks in his office and they visited the White House to present First Lady Michelle Obama with her genealogy report.
"Last year the church compiled several volumes for President Barack Obama," said Senator Reid. "This year, I thank Elder Oaks for sharing our faith's tradition of genealogical research with the First Lady and her family. This documentation of their lineage will be cherished and passed on for future generations. I am honored that the church can play a part in documenting the history of the First Family."
Other LDS Church authorities also attended the meeting.
