SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) – George W. Bush’s former senior advisor Karl Rove came to Utah to discuss the future of the Republican Party on Friday.
Rove, a graduate of Olympus High School, received a warm welcome at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. He was invited to the campaign event by Robert Bennett, who is running for re-election to the U.S. Senate.
In a speech at the campaign fund raiser, Rove blamed the democrats for the country's financial crisis, saying that republicans wanted more regulation for financial institutions.
Rove called democrats who blame republicans for the recession “hypocrites,” saying that they blocked republican proposed regulations when Bush was in the White House.
