SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A former BYU student pleaded guilty to aggravated kidnapping and obstruction of justice after police say he used a stun gun and handcuffs to hold a woman against her will.
Stetson Geo Hallam called it an April Fools joke, but prosecutors say he kidnapped his victim by luring her into a laundry room, shooting her with a stun gun, and trying to handcuff her. Police say Hallam wanted a romantic relationship with the victim, but she had no interest in him.
20-year-old Hallam could face life in prison for attacking the woman he knew from his LDS ward at Brigham Young Universtiy.
Hallam pleaded guilty on Wednesday to both 2nd degree felonies. He will be sentenced on September 7.
