SPANISH FORK, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Two families are out in the cold after a morning fire swept through their homes.

The fire happened in Spanish Fork near 13th East and 550 South. Fortunately, nobody was injured in this blaze but the damage to both homes is significant.

Eyewitnesses say the fire could be seen from miles away. Some say the flames were as high as 50 feet. Firefighters had a problem slipping on frozen ice.

The Spanish Fork Fire Department had their hands full battling this two-alarm blaze. They got help from departments in Springville, Payson, and Mapleton.

One eyewitness said the fire was so intense that he thought about leaving the area for a while.

The damage to both homes is extensive. In the driveway of one home are burned out cars including a Chevy Suburban, a Honda Odyssey, and travel trailer.

Both families got out of their homes without any injuries. They're staying with relatives and we hear they have pretty good insurance.

Firefighters are still looking into the cause of that blaze.
