ELDORADO, Texas (ABC 4 News) - With Warren Jeffs behind bars, the FLDS church has chosen a new President.
69-year old Wendell Nielsen has been chosen as president of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. That's according to a document filed with the state of Utah.
The document names Nielsen as the president of the FLDS Church's Corporate Entity, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Jeffs won't still be regarded as prophet by the sect.
Nielsen is said to have at least 21 wives and lives at the YFZ ranch in Eldorado, Texas.
