SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Hundreds of Utah contractors fought for a shot at the jackpot Thursday. The one billion dollar Data Center Contract at Camp Williams.

They met with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the Salt Lake Airport Hilton Thursday.

In all, 700 contractors registered for the event.

Carlen Capenos, from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, said, "When you have 700 folks coming into town, they're staying in hotels, eating at the restaurants, they're giving business to the local economy that's going to be a really important take away for Salt Lake City."

And that immediate economics spin off will build too. Organizers are planning another meeting next week. 650 registered companies have already signed up.
