SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - For weeks it has been perhaps the biggest secret on Utah's Capitol Hill.
Exactly what's in the big alcohol bill which would do away with Utah's private clubs?
Well, we're not saying we've seen the 103 page draft of that bill, but we're not saying we haven't either.
Even though the bill hasn’t yet been made public, it does do away with private clubs.
It also includes those controversial ID scanners but with a 17 day limited database instead of a permanent one.
And yes, the bill also prohibits minors from sitting at the bar of a restaurant.
And on page 33 - line 1,031 - reportedly, it says that at a bar, "a flavoring container shall plainly and conspicuously be labeled flavorings."
What's also interesting is what isn't yet in Representative Greg Hughes bill but soon will be.
ABC 4 has learned the bill will also do away with the 24 million DABC stickers put on booze bottles here every year.
Instead, the million dollars a year those cost will be spent on DUI and other law enforcement.
But capitol folks are still nervous about this bill.
When ABC 4 ran into Representative Hughes Friday, he immediately re-assured us the electronic ID scanner databases wouldn't be all that bad.
And he offered us this information, even though we never asked him about it.
That alcohol bill is expected to be made public and have its first committee hearing as early as next week.
