SALT LAKE CITY - The Verizon Wireless 4G network went down early Wednesday evening affecting millions of customers across the nation.
Verizon has not said when services will be restored.
The issue prevented customers from accessing the Internet and other data services. Phone calls and text messages were not affected.
Verizon released an update on their Twitter account, which stated: "We’re working to resolve some 4GLTE issues ASAP, some customers report operating on 3G or no data. 3G data; calls/texts unaffected."
Customers said they were frustrated with the loss of service.
"We were trying to use the Internet to look up a restaurant tonight," Thomas Coleman, a Verizon customer, said. "The phone just seemed slow."
Upset customers flooded Verizon's support page to express where the location in which they were affected.
This is not the first time Verizon experienced problems. They last experienced a major outage in April 2011.
