SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Attention Facebook users! A big change is now underway.
The long awaited "Timeline" feature is now available.
It allows Facebook users to tell the story of their lives on their pages.
I switched.
This weekend, I went from old Facebook to the new timeline and like an internet scrapbook, my life is now laid out on-line.
Cute kid shot, college graduation, high senior school prom.
All these memories are on my Facebook Timeline, even the night I interviewed singing legend James Brown.
Pete Ashdown, the owner of XMission Internet, says, “It shows the complete history of your life, if you want it to."
Ashdown has switched to Timeline.
But he says, like everything else on the internet, be careful what you share with others,
"I think anyone who is on Facebook should take a couple of hours to sit down and review exactly what is presented in the Timeline and edit out what they don't like," said Ashdown.
Timeline shows your life on the web as it has unfolded chronologically.
For example, when I was a rookie reporter, when I stood between governors past and present (Huntsman and Herbert) and even when I got a musical birthday message from Kurt Bestor.
Although Facebook changes have not always been welcome, Timeline is getting good reviews.
I installed it by typing Timeline into the Facebook search and then clicked on “Introducing Timeline.”
After that, I just clicked on the little green box and suddenly my Timeline appeared.
You can do it now or eventually all Facebook pages will reportedly switch over to this new Timeline look.
