Salt Lake City, Utah (ABC 4 News)- ABC 4 is taking action for people living in downtown Salt Lake City. Some are complaining about an abandoned building saying it's a huge eyesore.

The building is located at 106 south 500 west, it’s right across the street from The Gateway.

It was once a nightclub, now it's a burned out building that neighbors say needs to be destroyed. Hans White said,” It should be torn down. It's a hazard for anybody around here; I know homeless people have gone in it before.”

ABC 4 checked county records and found out the building's owner is Sandie Tillotson. The Senior Vice President of Nu Skin Enterprises could not be reached for comment.

But, Salt Lake City Deputy Communications Director for Mayor Ralph Becker had something to say. Lisa Harrison-Smith said,” Since the building is privately owned there's little the city can do as long as the owners comply with city ordinances.”

ABC 4 will continue to try to talk to Tillotson and get a resolution to this problem.
