Police warn of credit card 'skimming' at gas stations

SANDY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Utah police investigators said crooks have installed electronic "skimming" devices at 180 gas stations from Salt Lake to Provo in an attempt to steal bank card and pin numbers.

This story is wrong. It is not "180 locations from Salt Lake to Provo". It's 180 location in the western US. This was told to me by a detective at the Sandy PD. The feds gave them the incorrect information and later corrected themselves. In Sandy there were 2 7-11's hit and a gas station in Provo and one in Orem. That was as much as the detective knew when I called and talked to him.
