SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) “I think it would be a neat thing.” Stan Wacht is a resident at Palmer Court. The building houses people who are trying to get back on their feet. “You know, it’s a means to an end.” Wacht says.
In the meantime, he says they would like to take the plot of land behind the apartments and make it into something special. “It’s fresh food you know which is whose going to say no to growing and participating and taking care of the garden?”
Wacht also says it would give the residents of Palmer Court a productive and community building activity.
Some plants and supplies have already been donated to make the garden a reality, but residents still don’t have everything they need. They need tools and welcome new or gently used tools. They say they are not picky. But they are running out of time, the growing season is growing shorter. So, if you have an old rake, shovel, hoe, or anything that could help call: 801-505-7777.
