LAYTON, Utah ( ABC 4 News)- A Layton woman asked ABC 4 to take action after she says her motorcycle was in the shop for seven months waiting for a part. She was hoping to get a replacement bike or a break on her payments.
Annie Haddenham says last June she bought a bike from Barton's Scooters in Bountiful. Two months later, she took it to the shop to get the clutch fixed and then a valve went south. So, her Hyosung GT-650 sat in the shop for 7 months waiting for parts to arrive from Korea.
Is there any kind of law that helps Annie out? Jane Driggs of the Utah Better Business Bureau says,” The lemon law doesn't apply to this type of vehicle, So they're kind of out of luck. They just have to be patient and wait which is very frustrating.”
Driggs says the lemon law applies only to vehicles and RV chassis. Barton's says they were at the mercy of the manufacturer. The good news is that part came in from Korea. Annie got her bike delivered Wednesday Night.
